Things to do and see
You could be forgiven for choosing to spend most of your time lying on one of the island's 43 beaches, enjoying the views and sipping a caipirinha. But if you want to squeeze every last drop of fun out of your holiday, you could consider one of the many activities on offer.
You could learn to surf, dive, kitesurf or windsurf at one of the professional schools on the island. Or hire a kayak and paddle your way across one of the lagoons.
Away from the beach, you can enjoy a game of golf, a moonlit horseride, even a tandem paraglide or hang glide!
And if you want to get off the beaten track, then one of the best ways to discover secret beaches, hidden waterfalls and incredible views of the island is on foot or by bike. You could either make your own way by following one of our trail guides or join an organised tour.
And if this all sounds a bit strenuous, then let someone else do the hard work for you - book a boat trip around the island, or even charter a yacht!
Floripa has recently been recommended for its nightlife by the New Yorks Times (read entire article). The party scene has a lot of variety to offer - from large well organised clubs, to seemingly spontaneous samba parties in beach shacks. During Carnival the whole island comes alive to the beat of the samba drums, with parties and celebrations in almost every town and village. |
