But Brazil also has a gentler side - stunning mountain ranges and waterfalls, miles of beautiful beaches and a wealth of wildlife. While tourism is a developing industry in much of Brazil, visitors are made to feel incredibly welcome. You might not hear much English spoken, but the Brazilian warmth and generosity will overcome any language barriers. A short flight from Sao Paulo is the island of Sta Catarina, known to locals by the name of its capital city, Florianopolis, or Floripa for short. Floripa is principally known for its beaches - one for every day of the month, with some to spare! Florianopolis is the perfect place to acclimatise on arriving in Brazil, having a well developed infrastructure, and being very safe. The Banana Tree on the island of Florianopolis is the perfect place to enjoy all that Brazil has to offer. We are an English speaking private residence offering house rental and bed and breakfast accommodation. The house is situated on a quiet beach overlooking the stunning bay between the island and the mainland.
